Liar's Paradise REVISED My father used to tell me as a child "So long as man lies to himself about the meaning of paradise, there can be no such thing." He spoke of times long ago and of all the tidbits of information he was more than willing to share with his only son. I would sit by his huge, hairy calves and hold the invisible hand of my only friend at the time. Father's voice was booming, but kindly so, haunting and mesmerizing so much like folk music's drums. He'd set me up on his knees and hold me close to him; we would share our body warmth. We did not need to speak; words would only confuse us both.Liar's Paradise REVISED by ~soul-less-human
My invisible friend would stroke my hair as father sent me
Seeker Unknown he wandersSeeker by ~soul-less-human
forests and cities alike
looking for the lost ones
youth, tainted by adult shadows.
Unrecognized he searches
he, a faceless salvation to an unspoken paradise
those in his way turn to
mist
destined to their fates.
We did not want
but his persistent silence
so comforting
so horrifying
his outstretched arms...
rendered us
powerless.
Shadow The child looked out his window and saw paradise blooming. Or at least, that is how he saw it. The small bird cheeped outside the window, its pink flesh wrinkled like an old grandfather. It begged for its mother, in such stark contrast that it was as if the mother was raising a completely different species from some distant planet. The hatchling's yellow mouth screamed as loud as it could, begging and pleading for safety before the unseen world ended its existence. The only time it quieted was when its mother's warm breast provided the desperately needed shelter.Shadow by ~soul-less-human
The child turned a moment, and in his gaze of sight was a familiar figure
